About the society
Serious fun, semi-serious golf
Mulligan Masters is a social golf society built around one big idea: golf is better with good company, an early Friday tee time, and a second chance in your pocket.
We’re part traditional golf club (trophies, honours boards, questionable knitwear), part modern sports league (live leaderboards, season stats, player profiles) and part social club (the bit we’re best at). We’re a small, growing society just getting started: The Friday Club every week at Yas Acres, and a WhatsApp group that peaks at 2am after every prize-giving.
The format
Individual Stableford
The Friday Club plays Individual Stableford every week. Formats can vary for special events, so each fixture shows its own.
Every Friday at Yas Acres
The Friday Club tees off every week at Yas Acres Country Club, with early tee times so you're done before the day heats up.
Your ball, your card
Friday Club rounds are Individual Stableford: everyone plays their own ball all the way round and keeps their own score.
Formats vary per event
The Friday Club is Individual Stableford, but special events may mix things up. Every fixture on the Events page shows its own format.
One mulligan each. Use it wisely.
The society's founding law: every player carries one do-over per round. First tee nerves, watery carry, ill-advised hero shot — redeem at will.
How the points work
Per hole, after your handicap is applied
| Net eagle (−2) | 4 | Scenes. Absolute scenes. |
| Net birdie (−1) | 3 | Drinks may be bought for you. |
| Net par (E) | 2 | The backbone of every good card. |
| Net bogey (+1) | 1 | Still counts. Always counts. |
| Anything worse | 0 | A 'blob'. We don't dwell on it. |
The handicap approach
Bring an official handicap if you have one; if not, the Commissioner assigns you a “society handicap” after your first round — reviewed ruthlessly whenever you win. Points are scored against your handicap, so a high handicapper can absolutely beat a low one. Frequently does.
The Sacred Mulligan
One free re-hit per player, per round, no questions asked — except by your playing partners, loudly, if you waste it on the first tee. Unused mulligans do not carry over. We’ve checked. Mo has asked.
Why join
Golf's best two hours
Early Friday tee times
Tee off early at Yas Acres, play with intent, still make breakfast. Golf built for real life — then the important business of the clubhouse.
One bad hole never ruins your day
Individual Stableford means you play your own ball and score points per hole. Blob a hole, shrug it off and go again on the next tee.
A proper season, with proper stakes
Season-long leaderboard, trophies, badges and a Hall of Fame. It matters just enough to be exciting and never enough to be stressful.
Banter-first culture
Nicknames are mandatory, sandbagging is prosecuted, and every event ends with prizes both earned and deeply unearned.
